This website is in dedication of a gem lost not only to Finedon, but to a country. This impressive landmark was built in 1865 by William Mackworth-Dolben as a memorial to his son, William Digby whose life was lost at sea. A well-known folly throughout, this striking tower stood for 86 years until it's unexpected collapse in November 1951, claiming the life of the lady who resided there with her husband; Mrs. Florence Northen, aged 67.

This site is not only dedicated to the ongoing memory and beauty of this building, but also to the loving memory of Mrs. Florence Northen; 1884-1951.
